Back I 'd like to add that if you have a separate /var partition (as with a server install), it is wise to make sure you have enough space in there if up2date is configured to save everything it downloads. Up2date doesn 't check to see if /var has enough space and will download until all space is used up and you are left flapping in the breeze with a big, big problem.
