idle2 broken by default on RH 7.3

Hello,

I have installed 2 systems recently both with RedHat 7.3. They both
exhibit the same problem. If I fire up idle2 (the python IDE) I get the
following error

[ajmarsh@(protected) ajmarsh]$ idle2
Traceback (most recent call last):
File "/usr/lib/python2.2/site-packages/idle/idle.py ", line 3, in ?
import PyShell
File "/usr/lib/python2.2/site-packages/idle/PyShell.py ", line 13, in ?
from Tkinter import *
ImportError: No module named Tkinter

So I su to root and reinstall Tkinter like so

[root@(protected) root]# rpm -Uvh tkinter-1.5.2-38.i386.rpm
Preparing... ###########################################
[100%]
package tkinter-1.5.2-38 is already installed

Is idle2 working on other peoples system. I think I have a pathing
problem here but not quite sure where all this stuff lives. Not much
info on google or google groups. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
