I just submitted this in a bug report. Thought I might show the
work-around to users of a key-map other than 'us '.
Description of problem:
When executing the /bin/loadkeys command the keymap is not changed and loadkeys
exits with an error. It appears to me that there is an extra leading
forward-slash that causes the problem. See my error message below.
[root@(protected) root]# old.loadkeys dvorak
Loading //lib/kbd/keymaps/i386/dvorak
input in flex scanner failed
I copied in the loadkeys binary from my RH8 box and now it works fine.
[root@(protected) root]# loadkeys dvorak
Loading /lib/kbd/keymaps/i386/dvorak/dvorak.map.gz
