Back I have upgraded RH 8 to 9; but it won 't start in a graphicalk mode any more. After the log in command line the display server tries to start the graphical interface and then -after 5 tries- it gives up. When typing "startx " the same thing happens, but also the message appears that there is a font problem: fonts can 't be found and that I have to adapt font.config. I have checked the font paths and font.config but all have the right font paths and the fonts are all there in the directories of /usr/lib/X11/fonts. Can anyone tell me what went wrong and how to fix this problem?
