I have a problem with my network card Realtek RTL8139 PCI FAST ETHERNET NIC

I have a printer (XEROX 4505) linked to my computer over the network. I have asked the Xerox support center and they have told me that the network card is configured properly and the printer too, and they suggested me to email you.

This is a screen shot from the command ifconfig
> root@(protected) <mailto:root@(protected) > root]# ifconfig
> eth0 Link encap:Ethernet HWaddr 00:50:FC:30:A3:5F
> inet addr:64.64.1.10 Bcast:64.255.255.255 Mask:255.0.0.0
> UP BROADCAST RUNING MULTICAST MTU:1500 Metric:1
> RX packets:0 errors:0 dropped:0 overruns:0 frame:0
> TX packets:4 errors:0 dropped:0 overruns:0 frame:0
> collisions:0 txquelen:100
> RX bytes:0 (0.0 b) TX bytes:240 (240.0 b)

> UP LOOPBACK RUNING MTU:16436 Metric:1
> RX packets:22 errors:0 dropped:0 overruns:0 frame:0
> TX packets:22 errors:0 dropped:0 overruns:0 frame:0
> collisions:0 txquelen:100
> RX bytes:1588 (1.5 kb) TX bytes:1588 (1.5 kb)

The printer has the IP 64.64.1.100 subnet 255.0.0.0
I really don 't know what to do next. When I try to ping the printer it doesn 't reply as it should do.

In windows XP I have exactly the same IP and subnet as in Linux and there I can print without any problem and in linux I can 't. What do I hav to do?

Thank you very much

Adrian Gorea
