We have Red Hat 7.3 ( Download version ) running on two of the boxes in our
house. ( Red Hat 7.2 on the other box ). This problem is identical, on both
installations. When going to a Secure ( https ) web site, I always get this
error message:
"An error occured while loading ( the Secure URL ).
The process for ( the Secure URL ) died unexpectedly "
I explained this problem to a high guru in konqueror.org He replied:
"This means kio_http crashed. Doesn 't happen here. Either a bug has been
fixed, or your openssl installation has a problem ".
After I tried to access additional Secure web sites and failed, 100% of the
time, he replied:
"Trust me, the problem is the openssl version. " ( snip ). "You need to
install the same version as the one kdelibs was compiled against. No idea
what that version would be, that 's a RH-7.3-dependent thing. "
What version of openssl was kdelibs compiled against?
I 'm a Linux Newbie. TIA for your time and help!
