  | | | Unable to compile SiS drivers | Unable to compile SiS drivers 2002-08-23 - By Ben Hsu
Back Hello all.
I am trying to recompile the kernel with the SiS DRI video drivers. I got a "dethe quick bpmod: sis_malloc_ra3329ed5 " not found error. Surfing the web, I applied fixes to Config.in from the following URL:
http://hypermail.idiosynkrasia.net/linux-kernel/archived/2001/week52/0414.html
After doing this, I got many instances of undefined reference to "fb_display " and other symbols of the form "fb_* " drivers/video/video.o: In function `sis_get_glyph ': drivers/video/video.o(.text+0x1472): undefined reference to `fb_display ' drivers/video/video.o(.text+0x14c6): undefined reference to `fb_display ' drivers/video/video.o(.text+0x14d8): undefined reference to `fb_display ' drivers/video/video.o: In function `sisfb_set_disp ': drivers/video/video.o(.text+0x1e5c): undefined reference to `fb_display ' drivers/video/video.o: In function `sisfb_do_install_cmap ': drivers/video/video.o(.text+0x1f18): undefined reference to `fb_display ' drivers/video/video.o(.text+0x1f22): more undefined references to `fb_display ' follow drivers/video/video.o: In function `sisfb_do_install_cmap ': drivers/video/video.o(.text+0x1f3f): undefined reference to `fb_default_cmap ' drivers/video/video.o(.text+0x1f47): undefined reference to `fb_set_cmap ' drivers/video/video.o: In function `sisfb_get_var ': drivers/video/video.o(.text+0x2f1e): undefined reference to `fb_display ' drivers/video/video.o: In function `sisfb_set_var ': drivers/video/video.o(.text+0x2f76): undefined reference to `fb_display ' drivers/video/video.o(.text+0x2fc2): undefined reference to `fb_display ' drivers/video/video.o(.text+0x2fca): undefined reference to `fb_alloc_cmap '
This happened with both 2.4.18-3 and 2.4.19
Thanks for your help,
