Back I moved everything over to a 100G WD drive and so far it seems stable so I guess it was a bad hardware mixture.
I just assumed the drive would be fine since I have used 40G IBM drives on the same controller in several other systems without any trouble - It is too bad too because the 60G Deskstar is fast compared to the WD.
