Back I installed Red Hat Linux 7.3 on my notebook. Windows XP has been there. Grub controls the booting. I set Windows XP the default. A couple of minuts after entering Windows XP, no response for any keyboard hit. But keyboard works properly in Red Hat Linux 7.3. I checked with the hardware list in Windows XP and found the keyboard type is Standard keyboard 101/102 or Microsoft natural.... I deleted it and reboot the computer. The situation remains the same. The manual for my notebook tells me the keyboard type is Standard 87 Windows 95/98.
I install Red Hat from hard drive using PCMCIA boot disk. I don 't know why the graphical mode is not available. So text mode was used. However, unlike the graphical mode, there is only one box/window to choose the keyboard type. The 'us ' type is the most possible for my situation.
I fortunately finished this typing.
Thanks for any reply.
