I just finished a thouroughly disappointing effort to put SuSE 8.0 on a
Gateway Solo 9300 laptop. I 'd really like to convert this box to Linux,
but don 't have weeks to invest in hacking. Has anyone done the
following with RH 7.3?

1. Installs cleanly on the 9300.
2. Recognizes the Rage Mobility video. (SuSE dies not)
3. Recognizes a Linksys PCMCIA wireless NIC. (SuSE requires major work
here, I failed to get it up)
4. Recognizes the LS120 "floppy " drive. (SuSE does not, I came up with
a fix)

I 'm willing to give up on the internal controllerless MODEM for now.
