ipchains was blocking dns lookups on boot.
service network restart for some reason made it work, even though I issued
ipchains -L and the rules were displayed.
I added this to my ipchains file
-A input -i eth1 -p upd -s 0/0 53 -d 0/0 1024:65535 -j ACCEPT
Anyone see a problem with this command?
