Hi all,
My Pentium 4 computer has two hardisks. The former disk(20GB) is partitioned into disk C(10GB) and disk D, and is installed Window 2000 O/S. The latter (40GB- new hardisk) is also partitioned into 2 disk: F and G. I intend to install the Red Hat Linux 7.3 O/S on the disk F. However, when I installed from CD-ROM, It was Ok until running the disk partition setup step. I got the following massage:
The partition table on /tmp/hda is inconsistent. There are many reason why this might be the case. Often, the reason is that Linux detected the BIOS geometry incorrectly. However, this does not appear to be the case here. It is safe to ignore, but ignoring may cause (fixable) problems with some boot loaders, and may cause problems with FAT file system. Using LBA is recommended. Ignore Cancel
I selected Cancel , it displayed a massage
The partition table on device hda was unreadable. To create new partition it must be instialized, causing the lost of all data on this device. Wold you like to inititialize this drive? Yes No
I selected No
For /tmp/hdd , I got the same messages.
I cannot find this trouble in the document:x86 Installation Guide. Please help me!
Thanks in advance
