Back Hello,
I want to install joystick-1 (See http://ick-1.ora-code.com).2.15-11 version in RH 7.3 kernel version is 2.4.18-26.7.x. I have already tried installing in 7.1, 7.3 (original kernel version of RH7.3) and RH 9.0. All works fine... But here in this version i am facing so many problems. I'll give u in detail what i did.
1. The joystick-1 (See http://ick-1.ora-code.com).2.15-11.i386.rpm version was already installed in RH 7.3. I did these steps.
rpm -ivh joystick-1 (See http://ick-1.ora-code.com).2.15-9.i386.rpm cd /dev rm js* mkdir input mknod input/js0 c 13 0 mknod input/js1 c 13 1 mknod input/js2 c 13 2 mknod input/js3 c 13 3 ln -s input/js0 js0 ln -s input/js1 js1 ln -s input/js2 js2 ln -s input/js3 js3 modprobe joydev modprobe iforce modprobe analog (and added those 3 modprobe lines to /etc/rc.d/rc.local)
jstest /dev/js0. It gives "no such device"... But the same steps worked in other versions of RH as i mentioned.
2. then, tried the tar ball to be compiled, i have so many errors saying that 'no such file' in /usr/src/linux-2 (See http://nux-2.ora-code.com).4/include/linux/modversions.h. if u need the output i can paste them...All i did was changed /usr/src/linux to /usr/src/linux-2 (See http://nux-2.ora-code.com).4 in the Makefile of joystick driver.
Am i missing something? Could anyone please help me in this...
I am using Logitech Wingman strike Force 3D joystick. I know that the force feedback is supported only in recent redhat kernel version but when i tried the same joystick in other versions of RH it works fine without force feedback... how to configure it in rh7.3? Where am i wrong? Any suggestions?
Thanks Regards Priya.
