Yes, there is support for SATA hard drives in Red Hat Linux.  It really
depends on your controller.  Get the latest kernel and try it.  You may
need to put the SATA drives in Legacy mode (especially with Red Hat
Linux 8.0), but you can upgrade the kernel and try Enhanced mode.
