They are in the configs directory. For my Intel Pentium 4 processor, I use the kernel-2 (See http://nel-2.ora-code.com).4.??-i686.config. Copy that file (according to your processor) to .config:
cp /usr/src/linux-2 (See http://nux-2.ora-code.com).4/configs/kernel-2 (See http://nel-2.ora-code.com).4.*-i686.config \ /usr/src/linux-2 (See http://nux-2.ora-code.com).4/.config
