The journal entries will be written to the zone file upon shutdown.
So to get the zone file updated for reading, use brute force:

# service named restart

Bind 9.3 introduces a method to delete the journal and update the zone
file without a restart:

# rndc freeze <zone >
# rndc unfreeze <zone >

The freeze command deletes the journal and updates the zone file. The
unfreeze command reloads the zone file and starts a new journal.
