Actually it is very simple. Don 't worry about temporarily losing your
mbr.
Install whatever on HDA as normal with it 's boot, which will create a mbr.
Use the boot disk that you are going to create before starting this
process boot and reinstall grub on HDA and guess what you will be where you
started.
