Back It's a RHL7.2 server, from what the owners have told me (and you know how that goes), they haven't done anything to the server. They tried to reboot it a few days ago because they couldn't get the e-mail to come in. It is using lilo. I'm not sure of the layout since I'm not in front of the system. This I'll send later. What I do know is after running e2fsck /dev/hda3 it reports clean and this is where all the files and data resides. issuing init=/bin/bash does mount the root fs.
