I just finished figuring that out over the weekend - at least for the Intel NIC
part.
Go to http://www.intel.com/support/network/adapter/1000/linux/e1000.htm
Download the driver.
On a clean rh7.2 install I did the following:
rpm -i /mnt/cdrom/SRPMS/kernel-2.4.7-10.src.rpm
That installs the kernel sources.
mkdir /root/intel
cd /root/intel
Put the driver tar ball there.
tar -zxvf *.gz
cd e1000-5.0.43/src
make install
Then:
echo 'alias eth0 e1000' >>/etc/modules.conf
Make sure Kudzu is oiperational & bounce the box.
Finish networking install.
Fix /etc/resolv.conf
Fix /etc/sysconfig/network
Fix /etc/hosts
Bounce the box.
