Can 't boot Linux 8.0 CD 2003-05-30 - By Dave Miller
Back I want load LINUX 8 on an old PC that I put together from junk parts. I get this error when try to boot on a LINUX 8 CD:
ISOLINUX 1.75 2002-06-14 isolinux: Loading spec packet failed, trying to wing it... Isolinux: failed to load CD-ROM device; boot failed
This is a 200 MHZ Pentium MMX processor with 96 meg of memory, 2 gig IDE hard disk, and an old quad speed IDE CDROM. I loaded win98se on it OK from booting on a CDROM yesterday, just to be sure all of the hardware worked OK. I want to blow that a way and load LINUX now. Any ideas on why it will not boot on the LINUX 8 CDROM, but will on a win98 CDROM?
