Here are a couple of articles to help with a similar (yet unrealized)
project. It may save you some browsework.

They both use samba shares as virtual printers.

http://www.linuxgazette.com/issue72/bright.html

uses ps2pdf explicitly within its script.
ps2pdf is a shell script which uses ghostscript for the heavy lifting.

http://www.linux-mag.com/2003-01/guru_01.html

uses ghostscript directly and mentions other uses for Samba
"pseudo printers"

 Hi
I'm new to Linux.  I'm running RedHat 7.2.  I am wondering if there is a way
to share the PS2PDF printer on my Windows network.  Has anyone tried this?

 Thanks!
