LINUX and IPX

LINUX and IPX

I would like to say that Dave my be an easier way to go.  Although we do
not have any Netware machines in my environment (they are all in a NT
4.0 domain), I do have many MAC's accessing my Linux box which is shared
using  SAMBA.  You can either set up the Linux box as the WINS server or
if you have a current NT domain controller you can set SAMBA to use it
for authentication.  I know that you can install a program on the domain
controller (the name escapes me at the moment) that will allow the
Netware systems to see the machines on the NT domain.  Currently I have
MAC's, windows boxes, and the Linux file server all talking to each
other as peers through file shares with no problems and have been doing
so for years.  My MAC's can and do put files directly on PC boxes with
DAVE.  I do not consider myself an expert as far as Linux is concerned,
but, I did not think that the setup I did was difficult.

via CIFS (or NT Share) and simply load IPX on a Windows NT, export the drive to
the Windows NT, and Let the MAC look at a Share of the drive... it might be lot
cheaper and less work than what you are thinking.  DAVE isn't cheap (single
copy $150) but it might be a lot less painful than what you've put down here...

works - the only reason I haven't bought it is because it would be my dough.
DAVE is by Thursby Software.
