Sorry buddy, but getting to know the LinkSys router is the least of your
email server problems. You should read the email-administrators-howto and
join the mailing lists for sendmail-users and squirrelmail-users, for
starters. You need to get a general overview of how mail admin works and
how Internet mail gets passes on tcp.

If you don't read the howto, you will find yourself getting cussed quite
frequently. Email is the main enginge on the Internet, and if your server
is configured wrong, you have the opportunity to screw up more than just
your mail system.

Hint: SM uses IMAP, port 143 which you didn't open up. If you can't
connect to the pop3 server, then your pop3/imap server probably isn't
running at all.
