Is there a way to comment individual lines in /etc/aliases

currently
#October
olduser:currentuser
#September
olduser2:currentuser2

Would like something in this sort of format.  BTW this method treats the
whole of "currentuser   #Remove alias 11-30-03" as        "currentuser  
#Remove alias 11-30-03@(protected)"
