Thanks for the help. I ran the make menuconfig and changed the high memeory
attribute to 64GB. Ran the 'make dep' command which completed successfully.
Do I need to reboot to move the new kernel into place?

Uh? GUI for recompiling the kernel... what's that for?

cd _path_to_kernel_source_ && make menuconfig
