Dependencies check (in Up2date) takes for ever in my "Seawolf " system.

I have recently installed Red Hat Linux, Ver.7.1 (Seawolf) onto a hard
disk drive partition of my laptop (I need it in order to use some
business software, that is certified for this version of the Operating
System).

When I am trying to update the system from RHN, I reach up to the point,
where it checks for dependencies between the various RPM packages and it
never goes past this step. The CPU load applet (and "top") indicates a
near 100% load, however, I can't install any package update (even if I
select only one - small - package to update).

Has anybody else encountered the same problem? Is there something I
should do in order to resolve this?

Regards & TIA,
