PPTP Connections interacting with samba

PPTP Connections interacting with samba

Hello,
I have a little problem and i was hoping someone might
have a fix for it. my rh server hosts pptp connections
to windows 2000 clients where, among other services,
they get samba shares.
Everything works fine the first time. If however i
were to disconnect a client, and then when
reconnecting, they get a different ip address, the
nmbd wins server still retain the original ip address
associated to their netbios name. For example:
-WIN2K01 connnects to RHSERVER gets IP 192.168.0.102.
-smbclient and all network requests are fine.
-WIN2K01 disconnects.
-WIN2K01 reconnnects to RHSERVER gets IP
192.168.0.103.
-smbclient is still looking for WIN2K01 at
192.168.0.102 when it is in fact on .103

the refresh doesn't occur for a significantly long
time that its easier to just explicitly say -I
192.168.0.103 with smbclient. Win2K can't do this
though. Is there a way to force nmbd to reexamine all
WINS name-ip associations whenever there is a new
connection / disconnection??

thanks a lot!
Pat
