Install on IBM ThinkPad A30p?

2003-07-18       - By Quillen, Channon

 Back
My ThinkPad A30p is currently running W2k Pro.  I have a second hard drive
that I want to install into the machine and install Linux 8.0 or 9.0 on it.

With the machine docked, using 9.0, everything installs fine.  However, with
it undocked, the CD boots, and I'm able to select by which mode to install.
After all the options scroll across the screen the LCD display goes black
and shows nothing.  I've tried noprobe with no success.

If I boot with the 8.0 CD, I'm able to do an install with no problems -
ThinkPad docked and undocked.
