IBM SCSI RAID sector errors

Hi,

I have the following:

IBM eSeries x345 server
6 x 10K rpm Ultra 160 SCSI 36.4 GB drives (hotswappable)
RAID 5 is installed with 5.10 ServeRAID version
RedHat 8, with all of the latest RPM updates

For some reason, after the server has been running for a period of time I get
the following errors in /var/log/messages:

Jul 20 04:22:00 <hostname> kernel:  I/O error: dev 08:03, sector 67976
Jul 20 04:22:00 <hostname> kernel: SCSI disk error : host 0 channel 0 id 0 lun
0 return code = 70000

This error happens over and over with a different sector each time.  All IBM
diagnostics report no physical or configuration errors.  The server continues
to function, however, the response time of it is

What I have tried:

Restoring all disks to factory-defaults, rebuilding the RAID, reinstalling the
OS.

The problem returns again after the server has been up and running for a period.

****I have dozens of these machines with the same configuration.  I can't
duplicate the error...yet.  I have 2 or 3 machines that have this problem, but
not all of my machines.

Anybody seen these errors?

Thanks for any help.

Dave
