Hi. New to this list.

I hate to sound like a newbie, but I can 't get sound to work on this
workstation.

A Dell Precision 650, newly installed RedHat 9, up2date as of today.

a

# cat Trythink.au > /dev/audio

simply hangs (sound byte appropriate -- Curly of the Three Stooges saying "I 'm
trying to think, but nothin ' happens! ")

And, it 's true, nothing happens.

dmesg indicates:
