Problem with wvdial

Problem with wvdial

Hi,
i 'm a linux newbie using rh linux 8.0. I 'm trying to
get wvdial to work, after setting username and
password in /etc/wvdial.conf and setting nameservers
in /etc/resolv.conf i tried to dial in. Everything
seemed to be working...

-- >Looks like a password prompt.
-- >Sending:(password)
-- >PPP negotiation detected
-- >Staring pppd
-- >pid of pppd: 1385

but i get no response from 'lynx ' internet browser. I
tried pinging the nameserver (just needed an ip to
test) and got no response.

My internet connection is definitely working because i
can get a proper connection using the graphical
interface 'Netowrk Configuration ' and browse the web
using Mozilla.

What could be the problem? Thanks in advance.
