Hi All,

Ive just got hold of a new box and Im having problems installing RH on it.
It boots from the CD, loads the kernel and reboots itself anywhere between
loading /sbin/loader, 'do you want to do a media check ' or the next screen
(havent seen it long enough to read it).

At first I thought it was the RAM but Ive stripped out all but 32MB, run a
memtest86 (no errors found) and the problem remains. I 've fiddled with
some of the settings in the BIOS but nothing 's made any difference. Its
not the CD - I have tried RH9, 8 and 7.

Its a dual CPU mobo and 2 onboard IDE controllers - should that make any
difference?

Its an Abit BP6 Mobo with the latest BIOS -
http://www.abit.com.tw/page/uk/motherboard/motherboard_detail.php?pMODEL_NAME=BP6&fMTYPE=Socket+370

I already stripped out everything except the GFX card and 32MB RAM.

As a test I have just installed Win2k and it worked - no problems at all.

Any suggestions?

TIA
Jeff
