Back Just wondering if anyone here is interested in collaborating on a site/repository for "unsupported " packages on RHEL. Ideally, I 'd like to do more than just "here 's a bunch of recompiled Fedora RPM 's. " In addition to having a set of RPMS 's that are continually improved with RHEL in mind, I 'd like to facilitate discussion/notes on these packages to cover things like why you might not want to upgrade a package, what the gotchas might be, what makes a piece of software more/less attractive to Red Hat for official inclusion, etc.
If there end up being a lot of packages that are just re-rolls from Fedora, that 's great (and wouldn 't it be great if that level of compatibility continues), but even then I think it could still be a valuable resource just from a "peace of mind " standpoint... if I know other people are using these Fedora RPMS on RHEL, I 'd probably feel more comfortable with them on my systems, for example.
Is anyone on this list interested in collaborating on such a project, or is there already a similar resource that I 'm overlooking (perhaps via Fedora)?
Thanks
DC
