Lost my System Notification in Konsole

Lost my System Notification in Konsole

2003-11-03       - By Ed Greshko

 Back
I 've been running RHEL fine for the past few days. Then, all of a
sudden I notice that konsole no longer was "beeping " from my speakers
when I made an error. The little bell was showing in the task bar.

Under settings for bell I toggled between "None ", "System Notification ",
and "Visual Bell ". Still nothing....

I 've looked in the KDE Control Center under "Sound System " and the "Test
Sound " played OK in the "Sound System " category.

The check-box in "System Bell " is unchecked.

In "System Notifications " the "KDE System Notifications " has "Play a
sound " check for "Something Special..... " and the beep is heard when I
click the "play " button...

So, how do I get it working again? I 'm at a loss....
