Dual Emulex LP8000 's + Multipath + LVM

Dual Emulex LP8000 's + Multipath + LVM

I 'll be using the Emulex 1.23a GPL driver which emulex has tested with
AS 2.1 kernel 2.4.9-e.27 but I 'll be using it with 2.4.21-4.EL

http://www.emulex.com/ts/docfc/linuxos.shtml

I 'll also be using the MD Multipath I/O support for channel failover in
the event that one the HBA 's or switches die.

CONFIG_MD_MULTIPATH:
--
Multipath-IO is the ability of certain devices to address the same
physical disk over multiple 'IO paths '. The code ensures that such paths
can be defined and handled at runtime, and ensures that a transparent
failover to the backup path(s) happens if a IO errors arrives on the
primary path
--

I 'll also be carving up the /dev/md/* multipath devices via LVM to allow
me to have volume size management.

Anyone care to comment on this setup with AS 3 ?

Thanks.
