Back Anyone have a solution for the bug where up2date thinks that the 2.4.21-4.0.1 kernel is not installed, but it really is. It 's listed in Red Hat Bugzilla as being reported in October, but evidently no fix yet. When you set up a cron job to run up2date -ui, it fails due to this error:
Testing package set / solving RPM inter-dependencies... RPM package conflict error. The message was: Test install failed because of package conflicts: package kernel-2.4.21-4.0.1.EL is already installed
I just cannot understand how something like this can go so long without being fixed. Something as basic as up2date you would think would be a critical fix.
