LVM on AS 2.1 ?

LVM on AS 2.1 ?

Has anyone added LVM support in AS 2.1 ? Experiences good or bad.
Currently we use Solaris for our Oracle servers, however the prices for a
4 way sun box is about the same as the price for a 4 way HP box these
days, the only bonus is the cost of Veritas (we need to be able to shrink
volumes). LVM does this, but only on AS 3.0 which HP/Oracle havent signed
off on as yet. If I can provide that functionality on AS 2.1, and
convince them I can do as much with a 2 way intel Box with hyper threading
as a 4 way Solaris box, we might be able to get alot more servers in the
door.

Any experience with LVM on AS 2.1 and or performance of HP hardware vs
Solaris hardware would be good.

Thanks

Zate
