Sendmail Differences?

Hi All!

I have a RedHat 9 box running sendmail 8.12.8 with SMTP Authentication
turned on. It works beautifully! Users can send mail in or out of the
office without changing settings and life is a joy.

I have this other Enterprise ES box, running sendmail 8.12.10. I have them
configured almost identically--save relay-domains and host names--yet when I
have SMTP Authentication turned on I get this in the maillog:

Dec 19 16:39:04 dharmasong sendmail[28036]: hBK0d4mS028036: [192.168.1.103]
did not issue MAIL/EXPN/VRFY/ETRN during connection to MTA

Additionally, the mail clients repeatedly ask/re-ask for the user 's name and
password--inside or outside the office network. Is there something that
changed from RedHat 9 to Enterprise ES that would cause this? Or should I
be barking up the sendmail tree?

Thanks!
Corey
