I am not aware of any way. Basically, the unix password is encrypted
with a one-way encyption, and the windows/samba password is encrypted
with a one-way encryption, and those encryption methods happen to be
different. In order to create the samba password, you need to know the
cleartext version of a user 's password, so unless you want to run a
password-cracking script on your unix passwords, there 's no good way to
do this.
