I 'd say the first stop should be at The Fine Manual, Chapters 19 and
20:

http://www.redhat.com/docs/manuals/linux/RHL-9-Manual/custom-guide/

I 'd also recommend installing the httpd-manual and redhat-config-httpd
RPMs. Out of the box, you can turn on the server with

service httpd start

(and "chkconfig httpd on " to make it come up at the next boot), and
you have your basic vanilla web site. Go to

http://localhost/manual/

to read the Apache manual.

Cheers,

Eternity is a long time to think about what you should have done.
