Clustering on RHAS?

Clustering on RHAS?

All,

At work, we 're currently developing an application that will most probably
run on JBOSS and MySQL. Initially it is not expected to have heavy usage,
and we 're spec 'ing out a server with a couple of gigs of RAM, a raid-5
system and a couple of Xeon hyper-threading processors, running on RHAS 3.0.
However, we anticipate that the demand could skyrocket sometime early next
year, and want to ensure that we can scale the system.

So far, I 've thought of using DNS round-robin, but then I 'm not sure how to
synchronize the databases on the multiple machines.

Then I remembered that RH has something called RH Clustering, but I haven 't
found a whole bunch about it on their web page
( http://www.redhat.com/services/focus/ha/ ) and what little I found seems to
say that RH will offer consulting to figure out how to do it.

Is anybody currently using clustering on RHAS? Pros, cons? Is it something
that I can add later, or something that I have to plan for now? Anybody
know where I can find more docs on it?

Thanks a bunch!

Ben
