I doubt the kernel list will help much either. The fact that it's a
redhat kernel tends to limit support there. Red Hat tends to modify
things and the developers on that list use the stock kernel.

Case in point. The 2.6 RPMs for RHL9 don't use the module toos the same
way, they don't use the sysfs, and I think there are some USB
differences too.
