Oracle 9i on Opteron?

Oracle 9i on Opteron?

Howdy all:
I 've already directed this to the amd64-list mailing list, but I figured
I 'd ask over here as well.

Does anyone have any experience with running Oracle 9i on AS on an
Opteron box? The reason I ask is that I have to make a purchasing
recommendation, and I 'd rather sell management on a Penguin Opteron box
than YASSB (Yet Another Stupid Sun Box), simply because I can 't
guarantee that Oracle will run on the Opteron box.

I can see from Oracle 's site that a developer 's edition seems to support
AMD64, but I 'd like to have a production-ready release and verification
that it will in fact run on the expensive box that I 'm proposing.

Thanks.
