  | | | eth ordering? | eth ordering? 2004-02-23 - By Tom Diehl
Back Hi all,
I was wondering if anyone can tell me if there is a way to set which
nic is eth0 and eth1 etc? I have a machine that I am trying to install
which kickstart orders them one way and once you boot the machine kudzu wants
to reverse it. The nics do not work until I fix the config files by hand
and reboot 2 or 3 times to let kudzu mess with the configuration. I am trying
to let the nics use dhcp so I should not have to mess with the config files.
Anyone have any suggestions how to get kickstart/anaconda to identify the
internal nic as eth0 and the add on nic as eth1.
BTW, normally I use ksdevice=link and that works just fine. For this machine
I have to specify ksdevice=eth1, even though kudzu thinks it should be eth0.
I seem to remember there was a hack for this but so far I have been unable to
find it.
TIA,
Tom
