I have a feeling > > that's messing up other things. > Not sure if this will help.. I found this out the hard way when kismet can't contact 127.0.0.1/localhost. I have multiple profiles in my network config and there's also /etc/hosts with the correct
127.0.0.1 localhost localhost
Note : I omitted the localdomain line. I'm just lazy :)
anyway, if you look into
/etc/sysconfig/networking/profiles/profile_A/hosts
If you have multiple profiles, you also will have multiple hosts file inside those directories. I found that you will also need to ensure you have that localhost line there for kismet to work.
That might be the case for you?? Have a look and hopefully it solves your problem.. if not..
:) is all I can say..
