Rsync help on RH9

Hello

I want to set up rsync to download redhat updates.

I get the error Connection refused rsync error: error in socket IO (code 10)
when using the command rsync -avn rsync://ftp.redhat.com::pub
just trying to log in at the moment.

I want to get the RH 9 updates from
ftp://ftp.redhat.com/pub/redhat/linux/updates/9/en/os/

any help would be greatfully accepted
