Out of the box, I don't think so.  The HCL can be found at
http://www.redhat.com/software/rhl9_hcl.html if you want to check for
yourself.  The RedHat Enterprise product line supports some SATA
chipsets, but then it has a price tag attached to it.

Perhaps Fedora Core supports it, but I have no experience with SATA
drives yet.

Installation will modify your partition table for you, if necessary.
