Reinstall, but at the partitioning screen, do NOT let the system use
"ext3 " filesystems. Click on the dropdown box and select "ext2 "
filesystems instead. You should then be able to complete your install.
Once that 's done, you can convert to ext3 filesystems. See

for instructions on how to do that. It 's not hard to do.

There is a glitch between the installer kernel and the ext3 filesystem
on some hardware platforms. This started back in the RH7.2 days and has
persisted through FC1 and it only exhibits itself with the installer
kernel. The production kernel appears to be fine.

There is hope that FC2 (with the 2.6 kernel) will finally kill this off.
