it to the list which you were referring to.

Then it 's running. The command line method is "ps -ax | grep mbd ". You
should get three or more lines displayed (one is the actual "ps "
command).

The odds are that you have a user issue. The user name you 're trying to
connect to the Samba server as is probably not a Red Hat name. Many
things can be used to tweak this.

Put a DOS-formatted floppy into the drive on the Linux box, then, as
the root user:

   # mount /dev/fd0 /mnt/floppy
   # cp /etc/smb/smb.conf /mnt/floppy
   # umount /mnt/floppy

Post the content of that file here on the list.
