On rh 9 I've been seeing lots of problems with starting apps like gimp or
netscape. For example, if I login then fire up gimp it will typically hang
with a blank startup splash screen. If I kill it and restart it the
splash screen will paint correctly and start the progress bar, then hang.
On the third try it comes up fine. I've seen similar things with mozilla.
Since this occurs with multiple apps I'm guessing its either the graphics
driver ( Matrox G450 ) or X.
I haven't seen this discussed and haven't a clue what the trigger is.
Anyone have any ideas?
